Check out this 2014 Fender MIJ Strat with its crazy Blue-to-Purple finish with matching fretboard! This is in generally really good shape, with a few small marks to the body.
When we picked it up it had a pretty nasty chip out of the finish on the front, which due to the paint type was pretty much irreparable. We thought a racing stripe could be a fun way to getting it looking good again and enlisted the help of Barringtone RelicsĀ to do the job. The stripe has been applied and relacquered over which looks and feel great.
There are some slight imperfections and swirl marks due to the process of taking the lacquer right back and building it back up, without going down to the impossible to fix paint below! There are some very slight textural differences at a couple of points where the new lacquer meets the old clear coat (away from the stripe). These are very nitpicky points that we are highlighting, as you can tell from the pictures it has turned out superb. As usual Jess has had her imperfection goggles on and made everything look as rough as can be, in order to be as transparent as we can :)
