Pre-Owned Fender Newporter - Mahogany - 1981

*This guitar is from the California Series which Fender made through the 80's, changing factory occasionally. We believe that this a 1981 made in Japan model. There are two codes inside which both have 81 in them, the codes appear very similar to other early 80's models. It seems to be the general consensus that these were made in Japan for the first few years before moving to Korea where the serial numbers look to be in a different format. The colour of the body is lighter than most Korean examples and more similar to other listings stated as Japanese. The saddle is very low but this has no effect on current playability. There looks to be no issue with the neck angle, there is no bridge lift and maybe the tiniest tiniest bit of bellying to the top (super minimal). Action is 2.3mm on the low E at the 12th fret and 1.8mm on the high e. Truss rod is all working well, and it sounds very nice!
